Difficult feelings can be a gateway for personal growth. I am an interactive therapist who listens carefully and shares my perspective. Therapy with me is an opportunity to explore and better understand your thoughts and feelings, to make sense of your experiences and experiment with new ways of being, and to try new things to figure out together what helps. I will make suggestions for things you can try, but I will rely on you and your experiences to be the true test of whether something works. I want you to feel better, grow and thrive.
As a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW-R), Certified Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC), and Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) therapist, I have practiced psychotherapy since 2006. I specialize in Adults working through trauma, addictions, and life transitions; living with disabilities, living in non monogamous and/or kink relationships, and identify as Queer, Trans, and/or LGBTQIA.
My experience started in Social Justice Community Organizing from community clinics, private practice, community organizations, and health organizations such as Gray Panthers, Anti-Violence groups, AIDS Quilt, Harlem United, Guidance Center for Mental Health, Post Graduation Center for Mental Health, Henry Street Settlement House, and TRI Center, The Recovery Center. Additionally, I co-founded Passing Twice: A Place for LBGT people and their allies, Manhattan Stuttering Group, and moderate a panel of Clinicians Who Stutter for International Stuttering Awareness Day.
