I value collaborating with the clients I serve to first clarify their concerns and goals, and to provide effective ways to achieve the satisfying outcomes they desire, personally and in their relationships. The potential benefits of therapy are the reduction or relief from disturbing emotions or behaviors, an increase in the sense of empowerment, and improvement in your ability to make meaningful changes. I have found it is also important to consider that movement towards your desired destination is a journey that involves taking on challenges that can ultimately support growth and resiliency and one that is often best accomplished within a safe and supportive therapy relationship.

You are respected as a unique individual with the dynamic capacity to change and grow. With this in mind, I endeavor to customize with you the approaches and strategies that will most meaningfully address your particular needs and goals.

I have been in practice since 1986 working with individuals, couples, groups, as a workshop presenter and professional coach. I am a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist and Certified Sex Addiction Therapist Supervisor/Consultant through the International Institute for Trauma and Addiction Professionals. In 2011, with Dr. John Thoburn, I co-edited the book, Clergy Sexual Misconduct: A Systems Approach to Prevention, Intervention and Oversight. I am a certified instructor and instructor trainer for the national award-winning Couple Communication Skills Training Program. I am a Clinical Member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, a Professional Member of the International Association of Trauma and Addiction Professionals, a Professional Member of the Society for the Advancement of Sexual Health and a Professional Member of EMDRIA. I am also a Master Personal and Executive Coach through the College of Executive Coaching.
