Leslie Rankin is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW 66189), with over 20 years of experience in medical case management, community mental health and private practice therapy. For more than 10 years, Leslie has been working side by side with first responders. Whether next to them in a police car responding to calls or in therapy listening to their stories, her goal has remained the same-to help them be safe and healthy. This can include a focus on the individual-their strengths, their struggles and their overall health and mental wellness, and also a focus on the role of the system-family, friends, work or community with a common goal to create support for success. As a therapist, Leslie approaches situations with curiosity and compassion. She works in collaboration with clients to find the best path forward and support them on their journeys. Her work focuses on the effects of trauma in the life of a first responder. This can include critical incidents, cumulative trauma building up, beliefs of "I should have done better," as well as trauma outside of work including trauma in childhood.
