My name is Anna Aslanian. I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a Certified Gottman Method Therapist practicing in the states of California, Florida and New York.
I am the founder and director of My Therapy Corner, a boutique practice that focuses on individual and relational healing through a trauma-informed, attachment-focused lens.
I’ve been working in the field of psychological care since 2006 and in a private practice setting since 2011. I’ve worked with a variety of clients of different ages and backgrounds- those struggling with severe psychiatric mental illnesses, substance and process addictions, anxiety disorders, couples dealing with a wide range of relational problems, individuals struggling with big and small traumas, etc.
My belief is that therapy should be supportive and trauma-informed. Additionally, it should be culturally sensitive and consider all the layers of one’s identity, including gender, race and sexuality. I feel proud in my ability to work with various clients and meet them where they’re at. I am aware of the complex impact of trauma (any perceived trauma, no matter how big or small) on an individual so my approach integrates this knowledge into every aspect of client’s treatment. While I give clients coping skills using a variety of therapeutic modalities, the goal is always to get to the core of the problem.
I am an EMDRIA EMDR Certified psychotherapist and a Parnell Institute Certified Attachment-Focused EMDR therapist. Additionally, I am a consultant in training. My trainings including Acceptance Commitment Therapy and Polyvagal Framework for nervous system regulation. While these are the modalities I highly recommend and love practicing, I often utilize many other modalities to tailor to client’s unique needs.
People heal and grow in connection to others. So my therapeutic alliance with my clients is very important to me. I make it a priority to make sure clients feel comfortable with me and can trust me fully.
