Linda Kocieniewski, LCSW is a psychotherapist with a private therapy practice in New York City and virtually throughout New York State, who has been practicing EMDR since her training in 1998. She integrates her psychodynamic psychotherapy training with EMDR, mindfulness, and an IFS-informed approach to treating trauma and attachment issues. She has a warm, relational style, which she believes is the most important key to healing and growth. She is now also providing EMDR Intensives, which can provide rapid healing from trauma in a much shorter period of time than traditional therapy.
Linda has been a facilitator at Laurel Parnell’s EMDR trainings since 2007, is on the faculty of the Parnell Institute, and is an EMDRIA Approved Consultant. She served for several years as Coordinator of the EMDR Humanitarian Assistance Program’s NYC Trauma Recovery Network, which provided EMDR to first responders and healthcare professionals during the pandemic. Linda was formerly the Clinical Director of a crime victims counseling program and two child abuse treatment programs in the N.Y.C. area, and the past Director of a NYC Crisis Response Team. She currently has a varied adult mental health practice but specializes in treating survivors of trauma; including adult survivors of childhood abuse and neglect, developmental trauma, grief and loss, and recent traumas. She has a special interest in the area of healing attachment issues.
