Where Clinical Skill Meets Contemplative Depth

You share profound stories every day.

Stories of grief and loss, near-death experiences, and after-death communications, traumatic experiences, intergenerational pain, and experiences that echo across time.

Multidimensional Integrative Healing invites us to consider that healing may unfold across many dimensions of experience, including psychological, somatic, relational, ancestral, and spiritual.

During this retreat at Menla, Dr. Laurel Parnell will explore how Multidimensional Integrative Healing opens the door to dimensions of experience that extend beyond personal history and into broader fields of healing and transformation.

Releasing What Isn’t Yours: A Multidimensional Approach to Healing

This retreat explores the practices and perspectives of Multidimensional Integrative Healing and how they can deepen and expand EMDR-based work.

Open to clinicians trained in Attachment-Focused EMDR, this retreat offers dedicated time to explore and integrate the principles of Multidimensional Integrative Healing within both personal and clinical practice.

The approach explored in this retreat is also the focus of Dr. Laurel Parnell’s forthcoming book, Releasing What Isn’t Yours: Living From Your True Self Through Multidimensional Integrative Healing (June, 2026).

In the book, Dr. Parnell explores how individuals often carry emotional, relational, and even ancestral burdens that are not truly their own. Multidimensional Integrative Healing offers practices for recognizing these influences and gently releasing what does not belong to us.

This retreat offers an opportunity to explore these ideas experientially while learning directly with Dr. Parnell in a contemplative retreat setting.Preorder Releasing What Isn’t Yours

Exploring the Practices of Multidimensional Integrative Healing

Drawing from the teachings in Releasing What Isn’t Yours, Dr. Parnell will introduce key elements of Multidimensional Integrative Healing and how they can deepen clinical and personal healing work.

During the retreat, participants will explore practices such as:

  • developing energetic sovereignty and maintaining energetic clarity
  • working with energetic cords and relational patterns
  • accessing nature and spiritual resources
  • exploring ancestral resources and lineage healing
  • dreamwork and intuitive insight
  • after-death communication and spiritual experiences
  • recognizing, assessing, and releasing spirit attachments

Through experiential exercises, meditation, case sharing, and group discussion, participants will explore how these practices can support healing that extends beyond personal history into broader dimensions of experience.

Your Immersive Experience

Over the course of four days at Menla, you will:

  • engage in guided experiential exercises and meditation
  • participate in guided experiential work
  • explore case consultation in a supportive small-group setting
  • reflect, integrate, and deepen your clinical presence
  • learn within a retreat format that allows spacious integration and community building

Your Retreat Setting: Menla

Nestled in the Catskill Mountains of New York, Menla Retreat Center offers a contemplative environment designed for reflection and integration. Surrounded by forest and mountain air, the setting supports nervous system regulation and focused learning.

This retreat format allows time to metabolize the work. You are not returning to a full clinical caseload at the end of each day. You are given space to integrate what you are learning before bringing it back into your practice.
