Marie Dolfi is a licensed clinical social worker with a private practice that specializes in working with adoptees, birth parents, adoptive parents, and their family members. Services offered include individual, couples, family therapy, and support groups. For over 25 years, Marie has studied relinquishment and adoption issues making her uniquely qualified for working with adoption triad members. Marie believes clients are active participants in their therapy. Counseling starts with clients describing current struggles, a review of how their history impacts current difficulties, followed by identifying goals. Depending upon each client’s unique life circumstances, Marie uses treatment approaches that match the client’s history and goals. Treatment approaches include cognitive behavioral therapy, psychoeducational, family systems therapy, strategic therapy in addition to trauma therapies emotional freedom technique (EFT/tapping), and attachment focused eye movement desensitization reprocessing therapy (AF-EMDR).
