Bio
My approach to therapy is very practical: I think that it should free you from symptoms and distress, and also enable you to do things that you couldn’t do before, to stand up for yourself, to feel whole, calm and competent, and to experience joy. I believe that therapy is not only about resolving pain and trauma but also about post-traumatic growth: strengthening the positive experiences, feelings and abilities that start to emerge or re-emerge spontaneously as the brain and nervous system heal themselves.
If you have had therapy before, you may find working with me quite different. I will answer all your questions and help you to understand yourself and make sense of your life. We will create a flexible treatment plan, and you will know each session exactly what you are getting out of our work together.
The way I work is based on Attachment-Focused EMDR and integrates many different modalities, including the most up-to-date trauma treatment models: integrative, relational psychotherapy, Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy, EMDR, parts work, the Structural Dissociation Model, Internal Family Systems, Somatic Experiencing, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, yoga therapy and transpersonal psychotherapy. I also teach courses on how to recognise and work with trauma and dissociation, integrating all these modalities.
You are welcome to visit my website and contact me for more information.
