Bio
I am a warm, direct, and experienced holistic psychotherapist who works with individuals and couples to overcome shock and/or developmental trauma, relationship challenges, addictive thoughts and behaviors, intergenerational and immigrant trauma, and/or self-esteem issues. My desire is that my clients leave our work together able to have more choice and freedom in their lives.
I use EMDR, somatic, relational, and psychodynamic methods to build trust, and I’ll create safe experiences for you to be vulnerable, in order to build confidence, self-awareness, and make lasting change.
The majority of my training (after I got my Master’s in Counseling Psychology with a Somatic emphasis), was in a private practice setting under Marsha Hiller, MFT in Berkeley. I also worked at Rape Trauma Services in Burlingame, where I helped both recent rape survivors and childhood sexual assault survivors regain their sense of self, rediscover their boundaries, and trust people again.
I have a very strong conviction to create a more equal, just, inclusive, and diverse world. It’s important to me that we continuously fight racism, sexism, and discrimination of all kinds (especially given our current political climate). I’ve led diversity and inclusion trainings with U.C. Berkeley staff about privilege, mental illness, and unconscious bias, to name a few. Having a diverse practice is very intentional for me, and I welcome people from all backgrounds.
