Alisa Vincent

I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist specializing in trauma therapy for adults and adolescents throughout California. I work with people navigating trauma, anxiety, stress, grief, relationship difficulties, complex developmental issues, and concerns related to race and identity. Many of my clients are thoughtful and insightful, and may be functioning well in much of their lives, but find that earlier experiences or long-standing patterns continue to affect how they feel, respond to stress, or experience themselves and their relationships.

I’ve practiced EMDR for more than 14 years and use both standard EMDR and Attachment-Focused EMDR, along with Havening Techniques® and other experiential approaches. My style is warm, collaborative, and direct, and I adapt the work to the individual rather than expecting everyone to respond to therapy in the same way. I’m attentive to cultural context, the therapeutic relationship, and the ways coping strategies often developed for good reasons. I don’t think healing means becoming someone different; I see it as having greater freedom to be who you are, with less of the past shaping how you experience the present.
