I specializes in working with women, queer and trans* folks recover from anxiety and trauma and the messy ways that it can show up in their lives and relationships. I graduated from Smith College School for Social Work where my training with steeped in psychodynamic theory, relational therapy and had a strong social justice focus. For the past decade, I have worked as a psychotherapist and clinical supervisor in the Bay Area. I have clinical experience in both private practice and non-profit mental health settings. I have extensive training in attachment, trauma, EMDR, Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, and Bowen Family Systems. I have worked extensively with systems involved young people (foster care & juvenile justice), the LGBTQQIP2sAA community, and communities of color. The people, who I have had the honor to serve, have been my best teachers.
I use EMDR to help people liberate themselves from their past and process unhealed experiences. I find EMDR to be an incredibly powerful tool that releases the inaccurate negative beliefs that hold people back in their relationships and jobs. EMDR helps to replaces these negative beliefs with more positive and accurate reflection of who they so that they can live boldly as their powerful self, no matter what messy things life brings.
