I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW 24775) working in private practice in Davis, CA. While I work with a wide variety of people and ages—from youth to adults to elders—for most of my clients depression or anxiety is impacting life in a negative way. Sometimes grief or trauma causes this disruption. Sometimes low self-esteem or feelings of being alone are intensifying. Sometimes, one may be struggling and hasn’t yet found a way to make sense of why—one might feel that “something feels wrong inside of me but others cannot see or understand it.”
To make sense of why, I listen and gently inquire into what is happening, and trust that for all of us, there are contributing reasons. I also trust in each person’s capacity to make sense of inner experience as we work together over time. Although at times vulnerable, the process is also totally transformational when we discover and work with whatever is impeding growth. Most of us have a capacity to feel fundamentally better, to build strength, to grow, to repair what has been wounded, or to experience what was needed but not before experienced.
Drawing on training in relational psychology, neurobiology, griefwork, EMDR, and mindfulness meditation, I focus on building a genuine relationship, supporting an inquiry that allows you to settle into who you really are. Our work honors what is sensed and felt in the body, and clears pathways for insight.
