Working from a psychodynamic and relational gestalt orientation, I use Attachment-Focused EMDR to help my clients resolve old traumas, recover from emotional neglect, and gain a sense of agency in their lives. I’m consistently impressed by the capacity of this approach to make progress when talk therapy stalls, allowing for a deeper level of processing and insight.
Through the use of resourcing (tapping into our unrecognized strengths and inner wisdom) Attachment-Focused EMDR allows us to rebuild our foundations by giving ourselves what we didn’t get as children; be it love, nurturance, protection, or kind parental guidance. This bottom-up approach provides us with the resources to begin freeing ourselves from the life-long patterns that stand in the way of being able to go for what we want; whether that is in the arena of relationships, career, creativity, or a more empowered sense of self. By tuning into the deeper currents of our being this way of working has the potential to get us in touch with our innate vitality and power, putting us back in the driving seat of our lives.
I completed my part 1, 2, and 3 trainings with Constance Kaplan and Kim Cookson and trained with Laurel Parnell at the 2017 Parnell Institute Conference.
